David was involved in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as a youth and even attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
As an adult leader, David was the Cubmaster for Lakewood Elementary School's Pack 1758, as well as Scoutmaster of Troop 3 (for a total of 6 years). David has also served as Assistant Scoutmaster in years while not serving as Scoutmaster.
Both of David's sons have attained the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 3 as well as served actively as Patrol Leaders and Senior Patrol leaders during their youth years.
David firmly believes Boy Scouts should be youth run, and adult "supervised and advised". Boy Scouts is not a merit badge factory to churn out Eagle Scouts by the gross, but to instill leadership, survival, camping, first aid, and orienteering skills among the boys while having a great time in the process.
When not leading the Troop, David works as an Aerospace Engineer in the Thermal Engineering branch at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
